8G vs 16G MobileMe for XP user iPhone 3G

Im a lifetime Windows users being lured over to Apple by the call of the 3G iPhone/MobileMe combination. Answers to the following questions would be much appreciated...
Im waffling between the 8 or 16GB model. How much actual storage on the iPhone is taken up by the applications/operating system etc and how much will be left for my own files? Anyone have a rough percentage estimate based on current iPhone models?
Since so much data can be stored on the Apple servers (er, I mean Clouds) using MobileMe, it sounds like there will be more actual storage room on the phone. If Im predominantly going to be using the iPhone for the MobileMe features and as an iPod (NO movie or video use), will the 8GB model be enough?
Will MobileMes Contact/Address feature offer the ability to print/export address lists or download them to Excel files? Will ALL the MobileMe features be available to Windows users or are there things that require use of a Mac?
Thanks for your help!!!

My iPhone with no songs/movies/picts has around 7.2 - 7.3 GB free space (8GB model).
Since .mac/mobileme has never been targeted at a PC user before, I dont have any frame of reference to answer your questions on PC compatibility.

If youre someone who thinks it is necessary to carry 100 gb of music around with you everyday it wont be enough. If you use playlists to sync music to the phone and your not planning on storing movies and videos, 8 gb should be fine.
